My Linnea Lund : Alexia Duchêne

Par Linnea Lund

French chef Alexia Duchêne, revisits a traditional Swedish recipe for Linnea Lund.

She inherited a curiosity for elsewhere from her cultural mix. Her father is French, and her mother English.  At a very young age, she decided to explore different cultures in the kitchen, through the flavors and culinary richness of the world. While she was gaining skills in France, at the prestigious Taillevent establishment, and temple of bourgeois cuisine, the young chef soon takes off. One of her destinations was Copenhagen, where she trained with Tortsen Vildgaard, former second chef at the famous and starred Noma restaurant, modestly voted "best restaurant in the world" on numerous occasions. Alexia Duchêne knows clearly what she wants, has no shortage of ambition and carefully chooses the establishments where she can develop her taste for new combinations of flavors. She returned to Paris in 2017, behind the stoves of the iconic Giovanni Passerini, who won the prize of best chef of the year by the Fooding guide, before proposing her own street food menu for the Wanderlust terrace. That was in 2020. Since then, the young chef has crossed the ocean to realize her childhood dream of moving to the United States and to open her own restaurant, she name Margot.

Margot offers meals to share, inspired by Italian cuisine, she loves so much, with a hint of her French culture. It is in her restaurant, located in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, that Alexia Duchêne, dressed in our Pearl Grey Nicolas cashmere sleeveless vest for women) invited us to revisit a traditional Swedish recipe she knows well: Köttbullar (meatballs). Get cooking!
