This week, it’s Marina Penate, founder and CEO of Magma Agency, who is the #MyLinneaLund woman of the week!
An island beauty, Marina Penate has that sunny tone in her voice that we all wish we had. A natural charm that comes from the Canary Islands, where she is originally from, and that never leaves this young entrepreneur. Just a year ago, she decided to leave her position as an art director in the fashion industry to launch her own digital communication agency. A bold bet with herself, which she immediately took up as she, like the rest of the world, emerged from a year of confinement with its share of questions.
The outline of what would become Magma Agency was born in her bright Marais apartment. A luminous space where the rooms communicate with each other, and where color bursts from decorative objects brought back from her travels. For Marina Penate loves to travel the world. And whether her destination is in Europe or further west in South America, she never returns empty-handed from her escapades.
Spontaneous and wholehearted, Marina Penate is also in her way of dressing. Depending on her mood, she can switch from a very casual style for busy days to a very elegant look when she has a series of business meetings. But her little "weakness" remains crop tops, which she loves to pair with high-waisted pants. Thus, at Linnea Lund, she obviously fell for our cropped turtleneck sweater, Jan. Her favorite color is Macchiato. No surprise for this entrepreneur who can't start her day without a good iced coffee!
So, not in Spain (though we wish), but in the fourth arrondissement of Paris where Marina Penate welcomes us to her open-space apartment to talk about her travels and the Linnea Lund pieces she adores.
- How would you define your style?
I don't really have a defined style. For me, style changes with the seasons and my mood, meaning if I feel rather feminine one day, I'll wear a businesswoman look, and if I'm tired from the week, it'll be more casual. The important thing is to feel good in my skin.
- What is your favorite color in the Linnea Lund palette?
All of them! Honestly, I find this question difficult because Linnea Lund's colors are beautiful in both warm and cool tones, but I'll go with a classic, the Macchiato color.
- How do you wear Linnea Lund cashmere?
I wear it with jeans, skirts, or over dresses and shirts. Linnea Lund designs are timeless and very easy to combine with more extravagant pieces.
- What objects represent Sweden to you?
Fireplaces, cashmere blankets, and everything warm and cozy!
- What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe and/or apartment?
In my wardrobe, it's my basics, especially my leather jacket, as well as my bags and shoes (impossible to choose)!
- What clothing item from your wardrobe would you keep if you could only keep one?
A nightmare! I think I would take a well-cut, classic pair of jeans or a black blazer.
