How to Choose a Cashmere Sweater

Make sure it is 100% cashmere sweater

Only pure cashmere sweaters can be labeled 100% cashmere. The Wool Products Labeling Act makes it a crime to mislabel cashmere if it's not genuine.

Know the brand, their values, ethical, environmental and sustainability practices

Your cashmere can be cruelty free so long as the brand’s production process uses methods which are harmless to the environment, the goats and the employees. It is important to choose a brand who prioritizes transparency and whose values align with yours.

Always buy from a brand you trust

The time and perfectionist attention given to cashmere ensures that the quality is first and foremost. If you find a brand who’s quality and fit you prefer best, stick to it. You don’t want to risk buying low quality cashmere from a random brand.

If you want extra warmth make sure it is 2-ply

A 2-ply sweater means that multiple pieces of yarn were twisted together to make the garment making it softer, stronger, and warmer. If you are looking for a sweater like this check out The Charlotte!

Stick with classic colors

Starting with sweaters in classic colors means your favorite sweater will never go out of style. Trends are fun but come and go. Choose a classic look and color to become a timeless staple piece in your wardrobe.

Remember to take great care of your cashmere!
