How to take care of your cashmere ?
The secret to sublime cashmere by Linnea Lund
Before being sent to you, your Linnea Lund cashmere piece has been carefully washed to allow the fiber to express its full color, beauty and softness. Once in your hands, there are a few good practices and habits to adopt to preserve the quality of your Linnea Lund cashmere.
Loving your cashmere, it means letting it breathe
A cashmere garment loves to be worn but it also loves to be aired out. So avoid wearing the same piece two days in a row.
It means soaking it in water regularly
Unlike wool, cashmere loves water. It's even an essential element for it to maintain its softness and not get damaged. In fact, when in contact with water, its fiber reacts and the material comes back to life! It's as if you have a new garment after each wash!
It means choosing a delicate program
The best option is still to hand wash it in cold water. In a machine, don't exceed 20°C and forget about spinning. Opt for a "delicate" or "wool" cycle.
It means washing it with a detergent suited to its fiber
Our cashmere-friendly detergent, made in Sweden, is ideal for this. It's available in store or online on the Linnea Lund website.
It means drying it flat and in open air
Keep it away from a radiator or any heat source, lay it flat on a drying rack and forget about the tumble dryer. In summer, it's best not to leave it drying in direct sunlight.
It means brushing it in the right way
This is the secret to restoring its softness and original appearance. But don't brush it with just any accessory. Choose a special cashmere comb.
