My Linnea Lund with Charlotte Huguet, lover of the slow life and instigator of the « Countryfication »
Running away from the hustle and bustle for the slow life of the countryside. Reinventing a world, curling up with her family. Agreeing to give up some ideals to build a house only for herself and in her image. This is what has guided Charlotte Huget’s life choices over the last ten years. And it is sweet, captivating, just life her.
A part of the countryside
Just over 10 years ago, Charlotte Huguet, artistic director and stylist for a few brands in the fashion, interior design and beauty worlds, slamming the door of a Parisian apartment becoming way too narrow for her and her loved ones, and got away a few miles south to Paris to a small village of Seine-et-Marnes. An escape for a new horizon called: Barbizon. There she found a house in ruins that she fully restored with her partner Emiliano, a genius cabinetmaker, that rethought every square meters of the property. An old building with Swedish aspirations, dressed in warmly colored wood and cushions with chatty fabrics, objects with a soul, and pure, simple, effective lines that draw the lines between the rooms. Everything there has been rethought. Everything is beautiful and precious, because it is “hand-made”. Everything is soft, luminous, welcoming you into a warm atmosphere just like the owners.
In the bespoke kitchen, crafted with Italian marble and volcanic stones, dizzying piles of plates, salad bowls and bowls hang in balance, betraying an undisguised love of the art of the table, the pleasure of entertaining and the joy of cooking for huge tables. Each corner transports a certain image of happiness. The only thing we want to do, is to sit down and never move again.
Countryfication, a vision of slow life
At the origin of Countryfication, there are three women: Charlotte, Gesa Hansen, and Estelle Marandon. These are three women who have decided to rethink their lives as city dwellers outside the city, who have dared to leave behind a whole world, and who have renounced certain ideals in order to create their own world, more in phase with their convictions and aspirations.
There is a bit of bohemia about it and most of all a lot of serenity. For Charlotte, there is no doubt about the fact that she found peace and quiet into finally living the way she wanted, at her own pace and aligned with avoiding consumerism.
A vision of the slow life that Charlotte and her two acolytes have shared in a book they wrote together, “Countryside. For a new art of living” where they share tips for a successful green transition.
Charlotte Huguet in Linnea Lund
Even if she loves to dress up according to her mood, she clearly does not have a defined style, because she loves everything that is unfinished and in constant construction, it is in our Angela poncho in Midnight Blue that we imagine her or even our Nathalie sweater in Macchiato, that she wears in this week #MyLinneaLund portrait. Do you like it ?
