My Linnea Lund : Susanne Björklund

My Linnea Lund : Susanne Björklund

My Linnea Lund : Susanne

Each week, we invite a member of the Linnea Lund community to share their perspective on fashion. Together, we discuss their relationship with clothing, their wardrobe, and how they enjoy mixing and matching our iconic cashmere pieces. This time, Susanne, owner of "Elevage du bonheur" stud farm and mother of Charlotte, is the woman of the week for #MyLinneaLund!

The Susanne Story

Charlotte and Susanne's story is one of infinite love between a mother and her daughter, and one of immense admiration from a daughter for her mother. "Mom, she's not afraid of anything. She is the most incredible woman I have ever met," Charlotte tells us, with undisguised emotion in her voice.

With her hair held back in a carefully styled bun that her determined pace will not undo, Susanne has the bearing of those who have had to leave everything behind to reinvent themselves elsewhere, far from home. There is a natural and warm simplicity that can be read in her smiles, and the evident determination of someone who has managed to put down roots without ever forgetting her native Sweden.

Susanne in her stud farm Portrait of Susanne

And it is in Normandy, between the sea and the countryside, that Susanne found her true land to build her island. A peaceful stud farm for her horses, dogs, cats, and chickens, which she cherishes as much as people, but less than her children who, in her eyes, are everything. Loving and maternal, Susanne has always been very present in Charlotte's life, with whom she maintains indestructible bonds, the kind that only exist between a mother and her daughter. They know each other by heart, and Charlotte observed her mother for a long time, who naturally became her first muse, the one through and for whom everything began....

"Mom is very sensitive to the cold, and it was to warm her up that I created Linnea Lund."
Charlotte, Linnea Lund Founder

Thus, Charlotte, in turn, offered her a comforting and soft cocoon. And because her mother's arms often enveloped her with love, it was clear to Charlotte that the scarf in the Linnea Lund wardrobe, one of the brand's most essential and comforting pieces, should bear Susanne's first name.

"Since not everyone can have a mother like mine in their life, it was my way of offering others a Susanne. Everyone should have a Susanne in their life!"
Charlotte, Linnea Lund Founder

A lovely declaration of love from Charlotte to the woman who always believed in her, and who, from the very first hours of Linnea Lund, was by her side, sometimes working in the shadows from Normandy, improvising as a seamstress. A truly loving woman.

Susanne wearing a Linnea Lund cardigan

Even more so, Susanne passed on to Charlotte the attention paid to animal welfare, which is one of the brand's foundations, as well as that elegantly sober way of wearing a cashmere sweater over a simple white shirt.

Dressed in our new creation, our Oscar cardigan in its Off-White version, Susanne welcomes us with a huge smile and equally great joy, to tell us about herself through her wardrobe and the Linnea Lund pieces she loves.

Q&A with Susanne

How would you define your style?

My style is simple, elegant, while remaining feminine. I place great importance on quality. For me, less is more.
Susanne

What is your favorite color in the Linnea Lund palette?

I really like Machiatto, Oatmeal for its softness, and Midnight Blue, which is magnificent.
Susanne

What objects do you think represent Sweden?

As a Swede, if there's one thing dear to me, it's clogs. I've worn them all my life, and I think it's fabulous that Linnea Lund sells them. The Trätofflor, nothing beats the Trätofflor, especially not the one with decoration/paint on the top! Scarves also represent Sweden; as it is so cold in winter, Swedes like to put one or two scarves around their neck.
Susanne

How do you wear cashmere?

I love the Oscar model and the Torsten model, which is longer, worn with a white shirt. Ingrid with Greta in similar shades, like Oatmeal and Off-White. I also like Anette, easy to wear with jeans, a skirt, by the fire, or walking in the forest. We can't forget the Casa, a blanket that does everything. Superb on the sofa, a scarf for breakfast in the morning, in front of the house. It's easy to mix Linnea Lund products and colors.
Susanne

What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe and/or your apartment?

My beautiful mirror, where I can look at the beautiful Linnea Lund products!
Susanne

Which piece of your wardrobe would you keep if you could only keep one?

Anette in Off-White.
Susanne

If I say cashmere, what do you think of?

On a cloud in my Casa Oatmeal.
Susanne
