Each week, we invite a member of the Linnea Lund community to share their perspective on fashion. Together, we talk about their relationship to clothes, their wardrobe and how they like to mix and match our iconic cashmere pieces. And, of course, it's exciting and full of delicacy and love.
This time, it's Maya and Jenna, Charlotte's two beloved nieces, who are the #MyLinneaLund ladies of the week!
"My Auntie, she's the best," says 8-year-old Maya, when asked about her Aunt Charlotte, with whom she has a very strong bond. Maya and her sister Jenna, 10, were Charlotte's first muses, and she has been nourished by their natural cheerfulness and enthusiasm. As you can see, Maya and Jenna are intimately linked to the history of Linnea Lund, and even to the origins of the brand, since they both inspired Charlotte to create two emblematic pieces of Linnea Lund's cashmere wardrobe, to which she gave their first names. And you can probably guess which models we're talking about.... First, there's the soft Maya collar, a true bestseller of the brand, then the Jenna hoodie, as cool as the girl who inspired it. Charlotte would never have come up with the basic collar to protect cold-sensitive necks without the chilly nature of her youngest niece, nor would she have come up with the relaxed fit of the Jenna sweater without observing the eldest sibling's crazy energy and need to move around in something warm, comfortable and loose.
As always with Linnea Lund, there is a lovely family story within the Linnea Lund story. It also reflects the importance of family ties for Charlotte, who creates each piece with her heart, and her almost maternal attachment to her two nieces. In fact, the three of them form a real clan that the ocean is not enough to separate them, even when Maya and Jenna have to leave France or Sweden to fly to New York where they live all year long.
But before saying goodbye, there is always the inevitable and tasty tea time of Maya, the coquette, who shares with her "Auntie" Charlotte her love for dishes, pretty tables and Swedish pastries... As for Jenna, the sportswoman and soccer fan, she does not hide her pride to have such an inventive aunt, capable of designing the hoodie of her dreams!
So between two cups of tea and a soccer pass, Maya and Jenna welcome us in the garden of the family house, in Normandy, to tell us about their wardrobe and the Linnea Lund pieces she loves.
- What is your favorite color from the Linnea Lund palette?
Maya: Powder and Light Blue.
Jenna: Powder.
