My Linnea Lund: Hortense Pontabry

My Linnea Lund: Hortense Pontabry

My Linnea Lund : Hortense Pontabry

Every week, we invite a woman or a man from the Linnea Lund community to share their relationship with clothing, their wardrobe, and how they like to mix and match our iconic cashmere pieces. This time, it is Hortense Pontabry, interior architect and co-creator of Miasun, an ultra-light tent that fits in a pocket, who is the #MyLinneaLund woman of the week!

Create the future

“The best way to predict the future is to create it” is Hortense Pontabry’s mantra. She quickly turned those words into a concrete project with the idea of a beach tent, as pretty as it is practical, that sets up in a snap. A chic, lightweight alternative to the heavy, bulky umbrellas of childhood. Trained at the Milan Institute of Design, then involved in large luxury hotel projects in the French Alps, this young interior architect patented her bright concept and Miasun was born five years ago. Since then, the ultra light tent, made in France and marketed by Fatboy, has appeared on beaches worldwide.

Travel light, live simply

Thanks to the Miasun adventure, Hortense travels the world and has learned to pack light. In her suitcase, timeless, comfortable pieces that take up little space. Back in Paris, strolling through the Marais, a pair of raw jeans, a trench coat, and sneakers are just right.

Less is more guides her interiors too. At home, objects are few, each a considered find with extra soul and sentimental value. Among her favorites is an artwork sprinkled with black fragments from Amélie, Maison d’Art, a true coup de cœur.

Autumn tones, cashmere warmth

As autumn settled over Paris, Hortense opened the doors of her duplex and her wardrobe filled with cream and nude tones. That day, she chose our Nathalie turtleneck in Khaki to talk about Miasun, the objects she treasures, and the Linnea Lund pieces she loves.

In your eyes, what objects represent Sweden?

Sweden symbolizes my family because my nephews Anton and Linnea are Swedish, it reminds me of good times together and the art of Fika, the coffee break in Sweden.

What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe or apartment?

My grandmother’s watch from the 1950s, very Art Deco and timeless, and my Viltier ring, which I bought to celebrate Miasun’s success.

If I say cashmere, what do you think of?

For me, cashmere rhymes with winter.
