Each week we invite a woman or man from the Linnea Lund community to talk about their relationship with clothes, their wardrobe and how they like to mix and match our iconic cashmere pieces. This time it's Maylis, designer of Tranzat, "a creative house driven by her love for the material", who is the #MyLinneaLund woman of the week!
If in the streets of Paris you come across a female figure with wavy hair, gracefully swaying on a skateboard, it is likely to be Maylis Arnould, an ultra-cool girl with a casual and elegant look who, when faced with the choice between a handbag or a skateboard, will always prefer to ride than show off! No doubt, her clothes say a lot about her. In fact, what she wears deeply reflects who she is: a lover of beautiful materials and a supporter of committed, responsible and stylish fashion.
A woman of conviction and action, Maylis founded Tranzat a little over three years ago via a crowdfunding campaign. Her ambition: no collection but almost exclusive pieces or micro-series, available only by pre-order to produce just what is needed, no more and no less. This vision of a measured fashion, where the act of buying is not trivialized but reasoned, could only seduce us at Linnea Lund since we share this state of mind of the slow fashion.
And what we like even more about Maylis Arnould is her commitment to offering timeless basics based on the art of "upcycling", i.e. clothes, at Tranzat, mainly pleated shirts, jackets and bombers, made from existing fabrics that were destined to be thrown away or forgotten. Starting from existing resources to create beauty: can we make fashion more responsible?
So we followed her on her skateboard, through the streets of Paris to the doors of her apartment-workshop where she makes Tranzat grow when she is not on a surfboard dancing with the ocean waves. On this day, she was dressed in our sleeveless jumper Oscar - Off White, to talk to us about her brand, her love of beautiful fabrics, and the Linnea Lund pieces she loves.
