Some encounters are more meaningful than others. The one Charlotte Björklund, founder of Linnea Lund, was about to have with Jeanette Mix will be crucial but she didn't know it yet...
We are in the early 2010s. At that time, Charlotte was working for Li Edelkoort's Trend Union trend agency, and her daily life was punctuated by trips around the world. That lead her to her native Sweden, where she reconnects with its culture and warm hospitality. It is in the quiet embassy district, where the Ett Hem hotel is located, where she drops her bags and makes herself at home. The Hotel lives up to its name as in Swedish “Ett Hem” stands for “At Home”. This historical residence, with its typical Swedish architecture, offers a comforting cocoon made of antique objects and iconic furniture pieces of Scandinavian design. "Coming to Ett Hem is happiness! Everything is beautiful, thoughtful, sophisticated and well- made, and still keeps a great simplicity, which makes the stay here so unique"says Charlotte, who now has her habits during her stays in Stockholm, where a second Linnea Lund boutique has opened after the one in Paris. Her attachment to the Ett Hem hotel is even stronger as its owner, Jeanette Mix, was one of the first to believe in Linnea Lund.
Three years ago, Charlotte feverishly but convincingly presented to Jeanette the first prototypes of her Linnea Lund scarf and mittens, and was extremely touched that this elegant woman would follow and support her in the adventure of building a sustainable and responsible cashmere brand. Jeanette immediately showed her support by making Ett Hem the first place to sell the Linnea Lund pieces.
This first helping hand from Sweden was a sign for Charlotte. A reconnection to her Swedish culture and a strong symbol that has endured over the years.
Jeanette loves the Linnea Lund blanket, which she offers in “her home”, and her team is stamped with Linnea Lund jumpers and accessories. The history between Jeanette Mix and Linnea Lund keeps evolving. Today, Jeanette, who usually likes to stay discrete, has accepted to become the Swedish ambassador of Linnea Lund. We couldn’t dream for a better embodied muse.
