Each week we invite a woman or man from the Linnea Lund community to talk about their relationship to clothing, their wardrobe and how they like to mix and match our signature cashmere pieces. This time, it's Hortense Pontabry, interior designer and co-creator with her best friend of Miasun, an ultra-light tent that fits in a pocket, who is the #MyLinneaLund woman of the week!
"The best way to predict the future is to create it" is the mantra of Hortense Pontabry who quickly turned these pretty words into a beautiful concrete project since she had the brilliant idea of designing a beach ten, too pretty, which unfolds in the blink of an eye. A chic and light alternative to the heavy and bulky parasol of our childhood…. A luminous concept that this young interior designer, passed by the benches of the Milan Design Institute before pricking herself on vast luxury hotel projects, on the French Alps side, did not delayed in patenting so as not to get the idea stolen. This created Miasun and that was already five years ago. Since then, her featherweight tent, made in France and marketed by the Fatboy brand, has been deployed on beaches all over the world...
And the world, Hortense travels through it thanks to the Miasun adventure. Her escapes taught him one thing: to travel light. In her suitcase, timeless, comfortable pieces that take up little space! And when the getaway rhymes with Paris to stroll through its Marais district, raw jeans, a trench coat and a pair of sneakers do the trick! Less is more would therefore also be a golden rule for Hortense who knows how to surround herself with few things. At home, the objects are few and there are only beautiful finds that she sometimes took a long time to unearth, which gives them an extra soul and a certain sentimental value. Like this work speckled with black fragments, from the Amélie Maison d'Art gallery and for which she had a real crush.
As the autumnal cold gradually took hold of Paris, Hortense warmly opened the doors of her duplex to us, then those of her dressing room in cream and nude tones. That day, she had chosen to wear our turtleneck sweater Nathalie in the color Kaki, to tell us about Miasun, the objects she cherishes and the Linnea Lund pieces she loves so much.
How would you define your style?
As I travel a lot for Miasun, my style is very compact and quite classic.
What is your favorite color from the Linnea Lund palette?
All nudes, but also "cream" color tones, whites, beiges and grays.
In your eyes, what objects represent Sweden?
Sweden symbolizes my family because my two nephews, Anton and Linnea, are Swedish, and it especially reminds me of the good times spent together with the art of Fika (the "coffee break" in Sweden).
Which room in your dressing room/or your apartment is your favorite?
This is my grandmother's 1950s watch which is very Art Deco and, at the same time, timeless. And then my Viltier ring that I offered myself to the success of Miasun.
If I tell you cashmere, what do you think of?
For me, cashmere rhymes with winter.
