My Linnea Lund: Amélie du Chalard

Each week, we invite a woman or man from the Linnea Lund community to talk about their relationship with clothes, their wardrobe and how they like to mix and match our iconic cashmere pieces. This time, Amélie du Chalard, founder of the contemporary art gallery, Amélie, Maison d'Art, is this week's #MyLinneaLund personality!

Eight years ago, Charlotte* and Amélie shared an office and confidences. While Charlotte ran her own trend consultancy, Amélie du Chalard worked in the world of finance and the art of fundraising. But both were dreaming of somewhere else. While Charlotte already had in mind her conquest of conscientious, sustainable cashmere, Amélie was sketching out plans for a new kind of art gallery, conceived as a house or an apartment, conceived as a warm living space where art would vibrate without intimidating or overwhelming.

Today, Charlotte and Amélie's paths have crossed once again have both had their wish granted. Charlotte has created Linnea Lund, while Amélie now runs her own gallery, Amélie, Maison d'Art. And the experience is unique.  At Amélie, Maison d'Art, "we challenge the codes of traditional galleries", proclaims Amélie du Chalard. The works are neither to be hung on a cold, white wall. No, at Amélie, Maison d'Art, works of art vibrate with one another and take over the space in such a way as to become part of a daily routine, a way of life, an interior.

And every time, it's the same story for those who enter Amélie Maison d'Art: a wave of emotions sweeps over them, and everyone experiences a suspended moment in this very special place, changing according to the desires of collectors, thanks to Amélie du Chalard's talent for composing scenographies that, while they tastefully respond to the desires of visitors, are above all tinged with poetry and gentleness, and betray Amélie's obsession with offering delicate attentions to lovers of abstract art.

Indeed, this is what Charlotte loves about Amélie: "she has her own way of promoting the artists she supports by creating a singular experience for each visitor. One immediately senses her deep admiration for the artists she spotlights, and her desire to offer each visitor access to his or her own exhibition.I think this is very beautiful and very new.

On this hot June day, we stroll along the Left Bank and the Saint-Michel district towards the narrow rue Séguier. It's here that Amélie has built her dream and immerses her visitors in a unique and intimate experience. Dressed in our Oscar - Midnight-blue, she tells us about her gallery, her looks and the Linnea Lund pieces she loves.
